First time I touched the ocean in years.

  1. First time you touched the ocean in years
    First a toe.
    Ouch!
    No, not pain: just cold.
The other toe: icy smooth burning fresh
    Wade to your ankles
and feel the free bindings of liquid ice
    clean-tickling and silk-bouncing and freeze-licking your feet
Can’t resist longer: you skip along the shore
    then run
    and run back
    free
Why did you wait so long to feel this way?

PS This is the first time in quite a while that I've written poetry. Thank you for this unexpected inspiration!

PPS I'm having trouble commenting, so I tried as many profiles as I had. Thus you see my screen name as "bob," though that is rather far from my actual name.

  2. I'm very happy that I was able to inspire you in a beautiful way. I enjoyed reading the poem very much. I will try to fix the problem of commenting. You can try to post your blog as a comment. Thanks again.

  3. I believe I've got the comments issue worked out now. (Testing... 1, 2, 3.)
In case you're interested, I found the link to this in the comments of a Yahoo article regarding a message in a bottle. I'd like to think of your blog as a message tossed out into the cyberspace sea that I found on one of my rambling walks on the internet beach. "Hear me." A call. For help? Not quite, I think.
I look forward to reading more of your posts. I've never really followed anyone's blog before (perhaps I simply lack the attention span), but I'll try to keep reading this one. I know nearly nothing about your ideas from your few posts, which makes this rather hit-or-miss in terms of what I'll think about it later. I think I just like the idea of adventure and randomness and uncertainty.
I guess that's just what life is.
